Mr. Speedometer Inc is a Canadian-grown, family-run manufacturer and supplier of speedometer cables, ratio adapters, cable tips, and instrumentation components. With roots going back to the 1970s, we’ve built a global reputation for quality, reliability, and the kind of hands-on expertise that only comes from decades of real-world experience.
Our Story
We started out as Mr. Speedometer — a small shop focused on installing, testing, and repairing taximeters and speedometers. That work introduced us to the world of cables, tips, and adapter parts, and our business naturally evolved to supply meters and gauges across multiple industries.
Through the 1980s and 1990s, we built a strong reputation in the transportation and automotive sectors as a reliable source for speedometer, taximeter, and tachograph repairs and parts. Our deep involvement in the taxi industry led us to become the official manufacturer of the Record Taximeter — an industry-leading meter — and to add taxi top lights to our product line, giving us a true full-service offering for the taxi industry. We even operated our own fleet of 80 taxis, giving us an insider’s perspective on our customers’ real-world needs.
In 2007, we acquired the ATM Division from S.S. White, receiving their full inventory and tooling in early 2008. This move significantly expanded our cable and adapter manufacturing capabilities and allowed us to serve customers across North America and beyond.
In 2017, we moved to our current facility, investing in new manufacturing and testing equipment to better serve our customers and keep pace with an ever-changing marketplace.
Today, we operate as Mr. Speedometer Inc — carrying forward over 40 years of expertise, manufacturing our own parts right here in Calgary, Alberta, and shipping to customers on every continent.
